Temporary Accommodation Support
Where possible and subject to availability, ANNS provides temporary accommodation assistance for newcomers and members experiencing housing challenges while they secure longer-term housing arrangements.
Airport Reception & Arrival Support
Welcoming newcomers at the airport and helping them transition smoothly to their temporary or permanent accommodation.
Newcomer Settlement Support
Providing orientation, information, referrals, and practical guidance to help newcomers navigate life in Nova Scotia.
Home Away from Home
Connecting newcomers with community members, support networks, and resources that reduce isolation and promote a sense of belonging.
Housing Education & Awareness
Workshops and information sessions on renting, home ownership, mortgages, tenant rights, housing opportunities, and related topics.
Housing Advocacy & Conflict Resolution
Supporting members in resolving housing-related concerns, including disputes or misunderstandings with landlords and property managers, while promoting respectful communication and positive outcomes.
Community Housing Initiatives
Exploring innovative housing solutions, partnerships, and long-term projects that improve housing access and stability for Nigerians and other communities in Nova Scotia.
